Welcome
to the Zm page. Zm, what does
this mean. "Z" indicates
we are modeling in Z-scale a
ratio of 1 to 220 or 1:220 or
1 foot in the model equals 220
feet in the real world. Z scale
track gauge of only 6.5 mm.
Standard gauge track in the
real world is 4ft 8.5 inches
between the rails. The second
letter, "m" indicates
that instead of standard gauge
we are modeling narrow gauge.
This could be anything from
18 inches between the rails
to 42 inches between the rails.
Narrow-gauge z-scale system
with only 4.5mm gauge track
which corresponds to metric
gauge in prototype and is designated
as Zm scale following the NEM
standard scale naming system.
